How enchantments work
Enchanting is no longer random gear loot. You collect Enchantment Books, add them to your Library, apply one to eligible gear at the Enchantsmith and then upgrade it tier by tier.
01
Enchantments come from Enchantment Books. Books drop from area and region pools, or are granted as Quest rewards.
02
A collected Book joins your personal Library, so you own the enchantment and can apply it whenever you have eligible gear.
03
The Enchantsmith applies a Book to gear that can hold it. Slot eligibility decides which gear accepts which enchantment.
04
Book enchantments run from Tier I to Tier III, each tier raising the effect. A few also have a separate Unique Tier.
This hub covers what enchantments exist and what they do. For Points, Echo Shards and the full upgrade flow, use the Enchantsmith guide.
Find by gear slot
The same enchantment only fits some gear. Start from the item you want to enchant, then narrow by trigger.

Melee, Ranged and Armor overlap: some enchantments fit both melee and ranged gear. Bottomless Brew is Chest only, so it is Armor gear with a stricter slot.

Trigger explorer
A trigger is the player action that fires an enchantment. Choosing a trigger is more useful than a damage or utility label because it tells you how the enchantment fits your build loop.
An enchantment can have more than one trigger, so the trigger groups overlap.
Tier progression
Every Book enchantment starts at Tier I and can be upgraded to Tier III. Each tier improves the same effect, so the tier text shows exactly what changes.
Example progression
Lightning Surge
Melee · Attack
Tier I
Wave deals 60% of weapon damage and zaps mobs for a short time, making them weaker but faster.
Tier II
Wave deals 75% of weapon damage and zaps mobs for a short time, making them weaker but faster.
Tier III
Wave deals 90% of weapon damage and zaps mobs for a short time, making them weaker but faster.
Tier upgrades raise the number or duration in the effect text. They are upgrade levels, not rarity colors.
Some enchantments also exist as a Unique Tier. A Unique Tier is not Tier IV: it is a stronger version built into specific Unique gear, and it cannot be reached by upgrading a Book.

Book finder
Pick a source to see every Book that comes from it. Any Area books can drop almost anywhere, while regional and dungeon books are added on top of that pool.
Regional and dungeon books are added on top of the Any Area pool, so this area can also drop the area-wide books.
Source shows which pool a Book belongs to. Within a pool the books are equal, but the exact final drop chance also depends on which pool a drop selects, so no final percentage is shown.
Unique enchantments
Unique appears in two different ways. Some enchantments have an extra Unique Tier on Unique gear, while two enchantments exist only as Unique effects.
These enchantments keep their normal Tier I–III progression and also have a stronger Unique Tier found on specific Unique gear.
Ichor Blast and Primed Enchantment are not collectible Books. They are built into Unique gear, so there is no Book to find.

Find for your build
Start from what your build does. Each goal groups the enchantments that fit that play pattern, so you can compare candidates before you commit Points.
Build goals come from a gear slot, a trigger or a category. An enchantment can appear in more than one goal.
Compatibility
Slot eligibility is fully verified, so the slot checker answers the most common question directly. Wider incompatibility rules are not fully recovered yet.

A tier list answers a different question: which enchantments are worth your Points and Echo Shards. That decision lives on its own page.
This hub shows factual data. Rankings, power scores and must-have picks belong on the tier list page.
