How the economy works
Earn, hold, spend, improve
Currency is not a collection. It is the progression loop that turns play time into stronger gear.
- Play content
- Earn resources
- Reach the cap
- Spend
- Improve the build
- Farm harder content

This is a router, not a per-hour ranking. The frozen data can price a drop contract, but it cannot prove the fastest farm without route time and difficulty data.

Where each currency goes
Emeralds buy and upgrade; Echo Shards reroll, enchant and unlock services.
Buy gear from town merchants
Spend Emeralds on the rotating stock in town.
Open MerchantsRaise item power
Blacksmith power upgrades cost Emeralds. The price grows with dropped power, rarity and levels gained.
Open BlacksmithReroll a built-in effect
Rerolling a weapon or armor effect costs Echo Shards, and the price rises with each reroll on the same item.
Open BlacksmithUnlock Blacksmith levels
Blacksmith level 2 costs 20 Echo Shards and level 3 costs 40. Higher levels reroll better rarities.
Open BlacksmithUpgrade town services
Town service upgrades mix Emeralds, Echo Shards and enchantment books, and raise Merchant and Enchantsmith levels.
Open MerchantsAdd or improve enchantments
Enchanting spends Echo Shards and Enchantment Points at the Enchantsmith.
Open Enchantsmith
Reroll cost escalates per item
The first reroll on an item costs 1 Echo Shard. The price rises with each reroll and stops at 20.

Spend decision
What should I spend my currency on?
Answer one question about what you want to improve. You get a system to open, not a forced purchase.

Cap management
About to hit the currency cap?
Emeralds cap at 99,999 and Echo Shards at 100. Rewards earned while capped are wasted, but saving for a specific upgrade is still valid.
How much do you have?
100 cap
You are close to the cap
Check whether you are saving for a merchant upgrade, an enchantment or a reroll. Otherwise, spending before a long farming run may prevent capped rewards from being wasted.
Useful sinks
- Reroll a built-in effect
- Unlock Blacksmith levels
- Upgrade town services
- Add or improve enchantments
In the world
Looking for currency in the world?
Emerald pots can be pinned on the map. Echo Shards come from bosses, dungeons, rifts and Soul Storms rather than ordinary pots.
Common questions
Currency questions players actually ask
Where do I get Emeralds fastest?
Quest rewards and chests give the most reliable Emerald income. Extra-large quests average about 109 Emeralds per completion, while ordinary chests average about 15.
Where do Echo Shards come from?
Bosses are the highest-value single source at about 7.5 Echo Shards on average, followed by dungeon and rift chests at about 6. Soul-Corrupted enemies add a steady trickle.
What happens at the currency cap?
Emeralds stop at 99,999 and Echo Shards at 100. Rewards generated while capped are lost, so spend or plan before a long run.
Is the published average a guaranteed drop?
No. A boss gives 5 guaranteed Echo Shards plus up to 5 more at 50% each, for a published average of 7.5. The average is not a promise.
Are Souls a currency?
No. Souls are a combat resource with a capacity of 100. They cannot be spent at merchants or the Blacksmith.
