What do you want to do?
Upgrade costs, Hero-Level caps and reroll prices are exact recovered numbers. The damage a power level adds is not recovered, so this tool never estimates combat gain.
Inputs
Current power is treated as the dropped power, so every upgrade is priced exactly.
Each Blacksmith upgrade raises Item Power by one, so this also tells the tool how many upgrades are already applied.
Hero Level sets the ceiling, not the price: the cap is the highest Item Power the Blacksmith can reach.
Any value up to your Hero-Level ceiling. A target above it cannot be bought yet at any price.
Your upgrade plan
The Hero-Level cap is exact. The Emerald total is exact only while the dropped power is known.
The target is inside your Hero-Level ceiling.
Cost breakdown
- Power 30 to 3161
- Power 31 to 3274
- Power 32 to 3386
- Power 33 to 3499
- Power 34 to 35111
Why each upgrade costs more
The recovered formula multiplies the base price by an escalation factor of 1 plus 0.25 for every level the item has gained. Rarity and escalation are separate multipliers, not one added percentage.
- 0 levels gained×1
- 1 levels gained×1.25
- 2 levels gained×1.5
- 3 levels gained×1.75
- 4 levels gained×2
- 5 levels gained×2.25
Why a Unique costs more to upgrade
Rarity is a cost multiplier on the same formula. It changes the price only; it never changes how much Item Power one upgrade adds.
- Common×1
- RareInputs×1.1
- Special×1.2
- Unique×1.3
Rarity changes the price of an upgrade, never the amount of Item Power one upgrade adds.

Truth boundary
What changes and what does not
The calculator prices Item Power, so it is worth being precise about what that purchase actually moves.
What an upgrade changes
Your Emeralds go down, the item's Item Power goes up by one, and the next upgrade on the same item gets more expensive.
What an upgrade leaves alone
Enchantments, the built-in effect roll and a Unique item's unique identity are untouched by a power upgrade.
What stays unverified
The Item Power combat-scaling curve is not recovered, so the calculator prices the power level and never claims an exact damage gain.
Item Power upgrade
Item Power upgrade cost
Enter the item state and the Hero Level. The Hero-Level cap is always exact; the Emerald total is exact once the item's original dropped power is known, because the recovered formula is anchored on dropped power rather than current power.

Effect reroll
Effect reroll cost
A reroll is paid with Echo Shards, not Emeralds, and its price depends on how many times this item has already been rerolled.
What each level unlocks
Level 1 to 2
Level 2 adds Special rerolls
20 Echo Shards
Level 2 to 3
Level 3 adds Unique rerolls
40 Echo Shards
Fixed effects are not reroll targets
61 effects roll randomly and can be replaced. 12 effects are fixed on their gear and sit outside the reroll pool.
Some gear carries a fixed effect that is part of its identity. A reroll replaces the random effect, never the fixed one.
Rerolling replaces the selected effect and cannot be undone.
Reroll outcome odds are not calculated
The eligible effect pool is known, but the per-effect roll weights are not recovered, so this tool never claims a chance of rolling a specific effect.
Recovered exact reroll costs currently cover rerolls 1 to 60 on one item. Beyond that the price is not recovered, so the tool does not extend the curve.

How we calculate
How the calculation works
One order of operations, using only recovered rules.
- 1Item state and Hero Level
- 2Hero-Level Item Power cap
- 3Base price from dropped power
- 4Rarity cost factor
- 5Escalation on levels gained
- 6Round down to whole Emeralds
- 7Per-upgrade and total cost
Inputs
- Base price
- dropped_power + 15
- Escalation
- 1 + 0.25 * levels_gained
- Rounding
- floor
- Power cap
- floor(hero_level × 1.5)
- Power per upgrade
- +1
The Hero-Level cap is resolved from the projected level table, so the cap and the formula cannot drift apart.
Decision
Upgrade or replace?
When the remaining upgrades get expensive, replacing the item can be the cheaper route. This section is guidance, not a score.
Upgrading may make sense when
The item already carries something you want to keep, such as a good effect roll, useful enchantments, a build slot or a Unique identity, and the remaining cost is still small.
Replacing may make sense when
The target is far above your current power, the upgrade list is long, your current effect roll is not what you wanted, and you are already farming higher-power gear.

Questions
Blacksmith cost questions
Short answers to what players ask before spending Emeralds or Echo Shards.
How is an item upgrade cost calculated?
The recovered formula adds 15 to the power the item dropped at, multiplies by a rarity factor, multiplies by an escalation that grows with the levels the item has already gained, and rounds down to whole Emeralds.
Why do Unique items cost more to upgrade?
Rarity is a cost multiplier. Unique uses 1.3 while Common uses 1.0, so the same upgrade on the same dropped power costs more on a Unique.
Why does each upgrade on the same item cost more?
The escalation factor grows by 0.25 for every level the item has gained, so the third upgrade on one item is more expensive than the first.
What is the maximum Item Power my Blacksmith can upgrade to?
It depends on your Hero Level. The cap rises with Hero Level and reaches its maximum at the Hero Level cap, which is shown in the upgrade result.
What Hero Level do I need for Item Power 100?
Enter 100 as the target power and the tool returns the smallest Hero Level whose cap reaches it, instead of you searching the level table by hand.
How much does a reroll cost?
Rerolls are paid with Echo Shards and the price depends on how many times this item has already been rerolled. The first two rerolls are the cheapest and the price rises from there.
Why does reroll cost keep increasing?
The recovered rows raise the price roughly every two rerolls on the same item, which makes repeated rerolls on one item progressively more expensive.
What is the maximum reroll cost?
Inside the recovered rows the price stops rising at 20 Echo Shards. The tool reports the exact rows it has and does not extend the curve past them.
What Blacksmith level do I need for Special items?
Special items need Blacksmith Level 2, which costs 20 Echo Shards to reach from Level 1.
What Blacksmith level do I need for Unique items?
Unique items need Blacksmith Level 3, which costs 40 Echo Shards to reach from Level 2. Testing a Unique reroll before Level 3 is a gate, not a price problem.
Can I reroll a Unique item's built-in effect?
No. A Unique item's unique effect is fixed and part of its identity. A reroll replaces the random effect, so only the rerollable part of the item is priced.
Does upgrading Item Power change enchantments or effects?
No. A power upgrade only raises Item Power and the cost of the next upgrade. Enchantments, the effect roll and a Unique identity are unaffected.
How much damage does one Item Power add?
The calculator does not claim an exact damage increase, because the full Item Power combat-scaling curve is not recovered. It prices the power level, not the combat result.
