Blacksmith

What do you want to fix about your item?

The Blacksmith upgrades Item Power with Emeralds and rerolls a gear's built-in Effect with Echo Shards. Tell it what is wrong and it points you to the right service, its eligibility rules and what drives the cost.

Start from your problem

Your route

Upgrade Power

Upgrading raises the item's Item Power so a favorite item stays relevant. You pay Emeralds, and you can only go as high as the current Blacksmith power cap.

Blacksmith quick answer

Upgrade Power
Emeralds - keep a favorite item relevant
Raises Item Power by +1 per upgrade, up to the power cap set by your Hero Level.
Reroll Effect
Echo Shards - replace an unwanted built-in effect
Replaces one gear effect with a random eligible effect. The change is permanent.

The Blacksmith changes a gear's built-in effect. Adding or managing Enchantments belongs to the Enchantsmith.

Two services, two currencies

Blacksmith at a glance

The Blacksmith solves two different problems. Do not mix them up: one changes how strong the item is, the other changes what the item does.

Recommendation

Good Blacksmith candidate

You already like the item. Only its Item Power is behind, so an upgrade is the direct fix.

Why

  • only the Item Power is behind
  • you already like the built-in effect
  • you like the weapon moveset

This is a decision aid, not an expected-value score. The site only states what the data supports.

Service 1

Upgrade Item Power

Upgrading raises an item's Item Power one step at a time with Emeralds, until it reaches the cap set by your Hero Level.

Current Power
24
Current max
30
Possible upgrades
+6

Each upgrade adds +1 Item Power. The cost of each step rises as the item gains power and depends on its rarity.

Calculate upgrade cost

How high can the Blacksmith upgrade my item?

The highest Item Power the Blacksmith can reach is tied to your Hero Level. If the item is already there, the Blacksmith cannot push it higher until you level up.

Can't upgrade further?

Most likely your item has already reached the current Blacksmith power cap for your Hero Level. It is not an item bug.

Cost, not a table

What makes an upgrade more expensive?

The hub explains why the price moves. The exact Emerald total from power X to power Y is calculated by the Blacksmith Calculator.

What affects upgrade cost

  • The item's original power

The Item Power the item dropped with is the base of the price. A stronger drop costs more to push further.

  • Upgrade history

Every level already gained adds an escalation to the next step, so later upgrades cost more than early ones.

  • Rarity

Higher rarities carry a higher multiplier on the same upgrade.

  • Target power

The higher the target, the more steps - and total Emeralds - are needed.

This page never keeps a full cost table. Exact per-step and total costs live in the Blacksmith Calculator so a balance patch updates one source of truth.

Service 2

Reroll a gear's built-in effect

Reroll changes an item's built-in gear effect. It is not an Enchantment: Enchantments are a separate system managed by the Enchantsmith.

Current item

Your weapon, armor or artifact

Built-in effect

The effect currently on the item

Reroll Effect

  1. 1The Blacksmith works on one effect slot of the item.
  2. 2You pay Echo Shards for that reroll.
  3. 3You receive one random eligible replacement effect.

You cannot pick the result

Reroll gives you an eligible effect; it does not let you buy a specific one. Treat the outcome as random, not as a choice.

Reroll is permanent

The new effect replaces the old one. There is no undo, so decide the item is worth keeping before you spend.

Reroll guide

Reroll cost

Why rerolls get more expensive

The cost of the next reroll depends on how many times that same item has already been rerolled. The counter is per item, not per account.

Early rerolls

The first reroll on an item is cheap.

Repeated rerolls

Each further reroll on the same item costs more than the last.

Heavy investment

After many rerolls the cost reaches a maximum and stays there.

Already rerolled this item a lot?

You have already raised this item's reroll price. Before continuing:

  • Review which effects are actually eligible
  • Compare a replacement item
  • Consider farming a new copy instead

Effect odds are unknown

We know the eligible effect pool and the reroll price, but not each effect's probability. Because of that the site never publishes an expected cost to roll one specific effect.

Eligibility resolver

Can the Blacksmith work on this item?

Pick an item type and rarity to see which service applies and what the current requirement is.

What the Blacksmith can do

Upgrade Power
Eligible
Reroll Effect
Eligible

Rerolling a Unique item requires a high enough Blacksmith service level. Raise the Blacksmith level to unlock it.

Required: Blacksmith Level 3

Eligibility is decided by item type and rarity, not by the item's name. If a service is locked, raise the Blacksmith service level first.

Effect pool

Which effects can appear?

The Blacksmith draws from the same gear-effect pool the site already documents. This hub shows the pool size and hands the full list to the effects database.

Attack

Defense

12

Utility

23

Eligible effect families

  • 73 gear effects are documented in the effects database.
  • 61 of them can roll randomly onto gear.

Knowing the pool does not mean knowing the odds. The eligible list is public; per-effect probability is not closed, so no expected-cost estimate is shown.

Service progression

Decision assistant

Upgrade, reroll or replace?

Combine the power gap, whether you like the effect and how much you already invested into a single recommendation.

Do you like the built-in effect?

Recommendation

Upgrade this item

You like the effect and only the power is behind. Upgrade up to the current cap and recalculate the cost.

Why

  • its power is behind your current gear
  • you like the built-in effect

No fake score: the hub gives a reason you can check, not a value out of 100.

Common Blacksmith problems

Pick the symptom. Each answer points to the section or page that actually resolves it.

  • Why can't I upgrade this item?

Usually the item already sits at the current Blacksmith power cap, or the item type is not supported. Check eligibility and your cap.

    See upgrade rules
  • Why can't I reroll this item?

The usual cause is the Blacksmith service level needed for that rarity, or an item type without rerollable effects.

    Check eligibility
  • Why did reroll get more expensive?

The reroll price counts how many times that same item has been rerolled. It rises with each attempt and then caps.

    See reroll history
  • Can I undo a reroll?

No. A reroll permanently replaces the item's built-in effect. Decide before you pay.

    Read reroll rules
  • Why isn't my desired effect appearing?

Only eligible effects can appear, and each effect's probability is not published. Check the eligible pool before assuming it is possible.

    Open effects database
  • Why did the cost change?

Upgrade cost depends on the item's original power, its upgrade history, rarity and target power. Reroll cost depends on reroll count.

    See cost factors
  • Where did the Blacksmith go?

The same service appears in several regions and unlocks with main-story progress. Use the locations list and the map.

    See locations

Why can't I upgrade this item?

  1. 1Is the item type supported by power upgrades?
  2. 2Is the current power below your Blacksmith power cap?
  3. 3Do you have enough Emeralds?
  4. 4Is the Blacksmith service currently available?
  5. 5Is there a known version issue in Updates?

Why can't I reroll this item?

  1. 1Does the item have a rerollable built-in effect?
  2. 2Is your Blacksmith level high enough for this rarity?
  3. 3Is the item type supported by effect rerolls?
  4. 4Do you have enough Echo Shards?
  5. 5Is there a known version issue in Updates?

Tell me what is blocking me

When the Blacksmith refuses, it is rarely just not high enough level. Work through the diagnosis order until one step fails; that step is your real blocker.
