Soul builds

Soul Builds

Turn combat into a Soul resource loop. Generate Souls, store a reserve, spend them through artifacts, then rebuild before you run dry.

Quick answer

Soul builds work when generation and spending stay balanced. Too little generation starves your artifacts; too much generation wastes gear slots that could improve damage, defense or cooldown.

Choose your soul style

Choose Your Soul Style

Soul builds are not all one thing. Decide what Souls are for, and the generators, capacity and artifacts follow.

Is Your Soul Economy Balanced?

Pick a loadout and read its resource loop. Every level is derived from the equipped items, not from a made-up Souls-per-second number.

Overgenerated

Your Soul bar is likely to stay full. Some Soul-generation slots may be better used for damage, cooldown or defense.

Why?
  • 4 equipped effect(s) generate Souls.
  • 3 equipped effect(s) add Soul capacity.
  • Corrupted Beacon costs no Souls.
  • Corrupted Beacon has a 7s cooldown.
  • Soul Harvester costs 15 Souls.
  • Soul Harvester has a 5s cooldown.
  • Lightning Rod costs no Souls.
  • Lightning Rod has a 6s cooldown.

How much reserve do you keep?

This is a real decision, not a right answer. It changes when you spend and when you hold back.

AggressiveBalancedSafe

Spend on elites and keep a small buffer for emergencies.

Choose three artifacts and read the order to use them, based on their Soul cost, cooldown and activation type.

Suggested rotation

  1. 1.Generate a Soul reserve with normal combat.
  2. 2.Set up with the cheapest or free artifact.
  3. 3.Spend the burst artifact on elites or an exposed boss.
  4. 4.Keep the sustained artifact running while the reserve holds.
  5. 5.Stop spending before the reserve hits zero.
  6. 6.Rebuild Souls on the next pack and repeat.

How a soul build works

How a Soul Build Fits Together

The loop starts at generation and ends at recovery. Every slot either feeds the reserve, amplifies the spend, or keeps you alive while it runs.

  1. Melee weaponSoul generator and melee fallback
  2. Ranged weaponSafe fallback and setup
  3. ArmorCapacity, gain and artifact support
  4. ArtifactsThe Soul sink
  5. TalismansPassive economy reinforcement
  6. EnchantmentsAmplify the whole loop

A soul build is a resource engine, not just a list of Soul items. If one slot stops feeding the loop, the whole rotation stalls.

Soul substitutions keep the same economy role, so the loop still works while you farm the ideal piece.

Progression stage

Build by Progression Stage

The same loop changes as you progress. Early asks for a reliable generator; endgame asks for a full economy.

  • Early

Generate reliably, run one main Soul sink, and keep a strong weapon fallback. Do not require a perfect full-Soul loadout.

    See recommended loadout
  • Mid

Start layering capacity, cooldown and artifact synergy with Soul-specific enchantments.

    See recommended loadout
  • Late / Endgame

Run the full economy: multi-artifact rotation, boss variants and Sift / Soul Storm survivability.

    See recommended loadout

Pick a boss and check how well soul builds are recorded against it, then adjust before the fight.

Soul effectiveness

Mixed

A curated soul build is recorded as a workable, not ideal, matchup here.

Recommended adjustment

  • Keep the Soul generator running.
  • Equip a direct-damage fallback.
  • Preserve Souls for utility and defense.
  • Reduce dependence on pure Soul damage.

Endgame variant

Soul Build for Endgame

Sift and Soul Storm change what the loop has to survive. Pick the mode to see what to shift.

Playing

Sift rewards steady generation and control while you hold space.

  • Sustained generation up
  • Survivability up
  • Crowd control up
  • Single-window burst down

Execution

How to Play the Loop

The rotation is the build. Learn it once and it works the same in every room.

  1. 1.Fight normally until the reserve is built.
  2. 2.Open with setup or free artifacts, not your expensive ones.
  3. 3.Spend on elites and exposed bosses, not on weak mobs.
  4. 4.Keep one artifact for the moment the boss opens.
  5. 5.Back off and rebuild before the bar empties.
  6. 6.If the bar never drops, move generation into damage or defense.
  • Artifact Caster

Saves a large reserve, then converts it into artifact damage inside a short window.

  • Sustained Channel

Aims to match generation rate to consumption rate so the loop never stops.

  • Soul Hybrid

Keeps the weapon as the main damage source and uses Souls for burst, control and healing.

  • Soul Survival

Uses Souls for healing, control and defense instead of chasing top artifact damage.
