Armor basics

What actually makes armor different?

Armor is no longer one piece. Four independent slots, grouped into sets, decide what a piece can roll.

    pieces

  • Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings and Boots are separate slots. You can wear pieces from four different sets at the same time.
  • A set groups armor that shares a Weight, a build tendency and a pool of possible effects. It is not a wear-4 bonus.
  • A Unique piece adds its own fixed effect on top of the same effect pool as its base piece.

There is no fixed defense number here.

This page covers the 152 armor pieces we can verify and the 23 effects they can roll: slot, Weight and effect eligibility, not a made-up armor rating.

Armor sets

Explore the 38 Armor Sets

Every Regular set has a Unique counterpart built from the same armor family. The set is the effect pool — the Unique pieces are where the fixed effects live.

Set names describe an armor family. Two sets can share a Weight and still roll different effects, so check the effect pool before you commit.

These are effect-pool hints, not a class system. A piece can still roll effects outside this group.

How armor effects work

Set → Effect Pool → Rolled → Fixed

Armor effects follow three steps. Understanding them is what makes two pieces with the same Weight behave so differently.

  1. Step 1

    The set defines the pool

A set groups pieces that can roll a certain group of effects. That pool is the real difference between sets.

  2. Step 2

    The piece rolls the effect

Every piece can roll effects from its own pool, so two pieces of the same slot and set can still end up different.

  3. Step 3

    The Unique fixes an effect

A Unique piece also carries one fixed effect that is always on it. That effect, not the gold border, is the reason to farm it.

Do you need to wear a full set?

No. Slots are independent, so mixing pieces from different sets is a normal way to collect the effects your build wants.

Where to Get Armor

Armor pieces are tied to the areas they are known to drop in. Start from an area and follow it to the piece.

These are known farm areas, not guaranteed spawns. Exact per-piece drop rates are not published data, so we show area membership instead of a made-up number.

Best armor

Looking for the best armor?

There is no single best set for every build. What matters is which effects a piece can roll and which fixed effect a Unique adds.

  • Point 1

Compare effect pools first: a wider pool means more chances to roll what your build needs.

  • Point 2

Check the Unique fixed effects: they are the only guaranteed part of a piece.

  • Point 3

Match the set to what your build is doing, not to a ranking.

Data points

  • Widest effect pool: Sculk Digger with 15 possible effects.
  • Most widely available effect: Luck on 152 armor pieces.
Best Armor & Tier List

The tier list page ranks armor by real build use and effect value, so this hub can stay a factual browse and decision page.
