Companion builds
Build around summon talismans, companion-focused effects and enough player support to survive whenever your summons are unavailable.
What do you want your companions to do?
Reliable companions with a safe player fallback.
Companion commitment
Hybrid summoner. One slot remains for player utility.
Companion Core
3 Talisman slots
1 slot(s) left for player utility.
Qualitative profile
Recommended focus: A steady pack, self-sustain and a hero who can still fight alone.
Main trade-off: Not the highest ceiling for either damage or defense.
Quick answer
A companion build is a system, not a pet list. You decide how many of the three Talisman slots go to summons, keep those summons alive with armor and effects, cover their downtime with your own damage, and use support artifacts to keep the whole pack in the fight.
Companion core
These are the five companion sources the game data closes today. Each one summons a companion that fights, draws enemies and can be knocked down.
This is a list of verified companion sources, not a ranking. Which companion is strongest depends on how you support it and what you are fighting.

Companion base health and respawn time are published. Exact per-level companion damage and health scaling is not part of the current game data, so this page never derives those numbers.
You only have three Talisman slots, so companion commitment is the real decision. Every slot you give to a companion is a slot you cannot spend on player utility.
Equipping three companion talismans means full commitment to the companion core. Treat it as using all three slots, and keep a plan for what happens if a companion goes down.

Pick what happens first and the page points you at the right part of the setup.
What happens first?
My companions die too quickly
Companion survival comes first. Look at companion-supporting armor and effects, and check whether you are spending too many slots on damage.
Show Survival VariantBuild engine
Companion builds are measured on four resources, not on one damage number.
Whether something is actually on the field doing work. More slots means a fuller field, but fewer player options.
How long a companion stays in the fight before it is knocked down.
How much the summons actually contribute: damage, bodies and drawing enemy attention.
What the hero can still do when the summons are unavailable.
This is an internal way to reason about the build, not a formula the game shows. It is why a companion build can have high companion damage and still fall apart.
Armor layer
These armor sets are marked as Summoner in the gear data. They are the summoner armor families, not one single best drop.

Heavy · Support / Summoner
Light · Summoner
Heavy · Support / Summoner
Armor decides the build's identity, but it is only one layer. The effects it can roll matter as much as the set name.
Armor that is not marked as a summoner family is left out on purpose. If the data later closes a companion modifier on another piece, it can be added here.
Effect layer
Grouped by what you are trying to fix, not by a letter grade. Each effect lists its published tiers.
When companions survive but the fight still feels slow.
Attack
What it changes: Companions deal 40% more damage.
When it matters: Your companions are up but their damage is not carrying the fight.
Utility
What it changes: Positive statuses you apply to yourself and allies last 70% longer.
When it matters: You want your own buffs and the pack's to last longer.
When companions are knocked down before the encounter is over.
Defense
What it changes: Companions take 20% less damage.
When it matters: Companions die to focus fire before the fight ends.
Utility
What it changes: Defeated companions come back 20% faster.
When it matters: You want a shorter gap between a companion falling and coming back.
When the pack and the hero both need sustain.
Defense
What it changes: Increases healing given to yourself and allies by 50%.
When it matters: The whole build needs more healing to stay standing.
Utility
What it changes: Increases souls gained by 60%.
When it matters: You clear crowds and want your resource loop to keep up.
These effects are not a ranking. Pick the goal that matches what is going wrong, and confirm which tier you actually have.
Artifact layer
Companion builds use artifacts by job, not by tier. Each job answers a different problem.
Widen the window where companions and allies hit harder.
Take pressure off the pack before it is focused down.
Rebuild health and sustain so the next pack starts fresh.
Add burst for a boss or a dangerous pack.
Emergency protection for the moment the companion core is gone.
Artifact choice is a trade-off between power, cooldown and Soul cost. Check the cooldown and cost before you commit.
Recommended loadouts
Three profiles built from the curated companion builds in the catalog. Every slot has a reason, and every slot has an alternative.
Balanced Companion
Focus: Reliable companions with a safe player fallback.
Why this setup: It keeps summons in front of the damage without leaving the hero unable to fight alone.

Where to get it
Companion scaling is only partly exposed in the current game data.

Full Summoner
Focus: Maximum companion pressure and faster clears.
Why this setup: It pushes companion damage and lets the pack carry the clear.
This profile runs the same core kit as the one above, with a different talisman commitment and player fallback.

Focus: Healing and support for group runs.
Why this setup: It trades personal damage for healing and support that a group actually needs.

Downtime
Companions take damage and can be knocked down. The build question is not whether it happens, but what you do in the gap.
Can your hero survive this window?
If the answer is no, the companion core is not the problem yet. Your fallback is.
Player fallback
A companion build still needs a working hero. The goal is not to become a full melee build, only to stop the whole setup collapsing when the summons are gone.
Fallback: Safe
The hero keeps contributing damage and self-sustain, so downtime is survivable.
Fallback: Thin
The hero can hold for a short window, but a long downtime hurts.
Fallback: Companion-dependent
Almost all of the build's value is in the summons. Downtime is dangerous.
Give the fallback a job
Fallback is a safety net, not a second full build. A little of each is usually enough.
Encounter variants
A companion setup that clears crowds beautifully can fall apart on a boss. Treat them as two different problems.
Recommended companion mode
Pack Damage
More companion pressure and faster clears.
Apply VariantThe boss guide owns the boss mechanics. This page only answers which companion and defensive layers to adjust.
Playing mode
In co-op the companion build's job changes: fewer personal damage expectations, more control and shared sustain.
Solo, the hero has to cover everything the companions cannot.
Substitutions
Missing gear should not kill the build. Each slot has a role, and that role can be filled by something else.

Alternatives
Easier to obtain
Need: summoner-compatible armor with a companion-supporting effect and enough personal survival.
Need: another verified companion source, or a player-support talisman for the slot.
Alternatives are matched by role, not by rarity. A different set that does the same defensive job is a valid swap.
