Overall Tier does not represent a set's value in every build. Specialist armor can rank lower overall and still be the best choice for its role.
How it works
How Armor Ranking Works
Armor has no single defense number, so a set is never ranked by a stat. Ranking is based on what a set lets you build.
Point 1
Effect eligibility: which effects the pieces of a set can actually roll.
Point 2
Build fit: whether a set is already used by a published build and which role it serves.
Point 3
Role ranking: each build gets its own tier order, so a specialist set can lead its role.
Why Armor Effects Matter
Two armor sets can look similar, but their available effects make them play very differently. We rank armor by what it can become, not just by its base profile.
Tier Definitions
S — Build-defining
Exceptional in its intended role, with highly valuable effect and build options.
A — Strong
Consistently good with manageable trade-offs.
B — Good
Useful and viable, but stronger alternatives usually exist.
C — Situational
Works in specific builds or situations.
D — Limited
Usually outperformed by other armor in the same role.
Unranked
Not enough production data to make a defensible comparison.

Do I Need the Full Set?
Recommendations are based on the set's identity plus the effects its pieces can roll, not on a hidden set bonus.
Mixing pieces is allowed in-game, but this page does not calculate a best mixed loadout. If you only need one piece, open it and check its own effects and sources.
